An article written by Aquaneering's Sales Manager, Bobbi Baur, was published in the May/June edition of ALN magazine. "Zebrafish: The Challenge of Standardization in a Maturing Research Model" gives readers an overview of zebrafish husbandry standards throughout the years, and details how the zebrafish research community is currently working together to develop performance based standards for the future. WAS and Zebrafish Husbandry Workshop Recap
This year's World Aquaculture Society Conference and Hubbs-SeaWorld Party were both great successes! Our special guest San Ping Yuan (president of Aquaneering's Chinese distributor Quindao Samuels Industrial) came to visit and participate in the week's events. A speech by mayor Jerry Sanders kicked off the Hubbs-SeaWorld "Sushi Tuesday" party, co-hosted by Aquaneering. Four professional sushi chefs prepared fresh yellowtail, salmon, abalone and Toro for over 400 guests in town for the conference.
The highlight of the week was the 6th Annual Zebrafish Husbandry Workshop. Attendees came from the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, Israel and Germany to participate in the workshop featuring both presentations and open forum discussions on zebrafish husbandry. As in years past, the workshop served as a vital stepping stone for discussing international standardization of husbandry guidelines. For the first time, we worked in conjunction with ZHA (Zebrafish Husbandry Association) to help spread the word about about the event. As a new associated member of the World Aquaculture Society, ZHA was able to offer discounted registration to their members and hosted their annual meeting at the conference as well.
