Aquaneering provides self contained housing systems for Zebrafish Danio and Xenopus Frogs for use in research and laboratory applications
Our housing systems incorporates the exclusive AQUANEERING No Maintenance Biofilter design into a smaller, self-contained mountable rack system. The same tanks, rack design and filtration technology used in our standard central filtration housing system provides the cleanest Zebrafish and Xenopus environment available, in a compact space. Boasting undetectable levels of ammonia, this rack system is the perfect solution to small scale Zebrafish or Xenopus research protocols.
Xenopus Aquatic Housing System

Zebrafish Danio Aquatic Housing System
The AQUANEERING Zebrafish Danio Self-Contained Aquatic Housing System is available in three basic configurations, including the standard 5 tier Stand Alone Rack, the 3 tier Table Top Rack, and the 5 tier Double Rack. The 5 tier Stand Alone unit is equipped to handle one row of twenty 1.0 liter tanks, three rows of twelve 2.8 liter tanks, and one row of six 9.0 liter tanks. The 3 tier Table Top Rack can house 16 1.0 liter tanks, 12 2.8 liter tanks, and 5 9.0 liter tanks. The 5 tier Double Rack holds 40 1.0 liter tanks, 72 2.8 liter tanks, and 12 9.0 liter tanks. (Tanks can be configured in a variety of different arrangements not shown. For custom configurations, please consult AQUANEERING).

The AQUANEERING system employs a four-stage filtration system to provide the cleanest recirculated water in the industry. The first stage is a Dacron pad particulate filter, trapping particles greater than 10 microns, and can be easily removed for washing or disposal. High pressure water, from the quiet, reliable submerged pump, is forced into the bottom of the fluidized bed, suspending and mixing the filter media (#60 screened silica) to prevent channeling and insure full utilization of the entire surface area. With up-flow water circulation, the sand media acts as a fluid and will not short circuit or require maintenance as gravity and pressurized sand filters do. With 10 times more surface area than the industry standard, the AQUANEERING aquatics system boasts undetectable levels of ammonia and waste content. Water then flows into the second sump chamber, which contains a microprocessor controlled, 250-watt heater to maintain a comfortable environment throughout the rack. A single carbon finishing filter lays submerged in the second sump chamber, and a dedicated submersible pump draws water through and pressurizes the rack supply lines. Lastly, before the processed water reaches the tanks, the final step of disinfection is carried out by a 15 watt UV sterilizing lamp that provides a minimum of 90,000mwatt-sec/cm, ensuring that the cleanest possible water is supplied to the fish.

Xenopus Aquatic Housing System
The Xenopus Aquatic Holding System comes available with both opaque 50 liter roto-molded polyethylene holding tanks and/or autoclavable 16 liter clear polycarbonate recovery tanks. (Holding tanks feature a false bottom, which is designed to separate any ambient particulate matter or waste and allows it to fall to the bottom). Racks can be had in almost in almost any conceivable arrangement. Please consult AQUANEERING for further information on custom configurations.

The AQUANEERING system employs a four-stage filtration system to provide the cleanest recirculated water in the industry. The first stage is a Dacron pad particulate filter, trapping particles greater than 10 microns, and can be easily removed for washing or disposal. Water is then pumped into the fluidized bed biological filter. High pressure water, from the quiet, reliable submerged pump, is forced into the bottom of the fluidized bed, suspending and mixing the filter media (#60 screened silica) to prevent channeling and insure full utilization of the entire surface area. Fluidized bed filters utilize a fine sand media that provides a tremendous area for 200 - 1000 different types of beneficial bacteria to grow, assuring a biologically stable ecology in the tank system. The bacteria population is constantly starved, which results in extreme "shock-loading" capabilities, and allows the filter to nitrify large amounts of ammonia without any change in the overall water quality. With up-flow water circulation, the sand media acts as a fluid and will not short circuit or require maintenance as gravity and pressurized sand filters do. This unique filtration design provides over 1500 sq. ft. of surface area on which biological conversion of harmful ammonia can occur. With 10 times more surface area than the industry standard, the Allentown-AQUANEERING aquatics system boasts undetectable levels of ammonia and waste content. Dual carbon finishing filters lie submerged in the second sump chamber, and a dedicated submersible pump draws water through and pressurizes the rack supply lines. Water then flows to a microprocessor controlled chiller to maintain a comfortable environment throughout the rack. In line on the main supply line is the last filter, a 25-watt UV sterilizing lamp that provides a minimum of 90,000_watt sec/cm2.
